The cluster is in the Lepini Mountains, with limestone ridges and olive-covered slopes around the inhabited centres of southern Lazio. The Amaseno valley lies nearby and the Tyrrhenian coast is beyond the hills but outside the immediate 15 km landscape. Monti Ausoni e Lago di Fondi Regional Natural Park lies to the south-east, with the Lepini-Ausi limestone system continuing across this part of the area. The nearest larger town is Latina, while Priverno is the nearer historic centre of some size with everyday services and a rail connection in the plain below. Maenza is known locally for its old hill village and baronial castle, and the wider area is known for olives and hill agriculture.
