The cluster is in the Val Seriana under the Bergamasque Alps, with steep wooded slopes rising close to the settlements and the upper valley narrowing toward the Orobie. The Serio river runs down the valley. The Parco delle Orobie Bergamasche begins a short distance to the north and east, covering much of the high ground above the valley. The nearest ski lifts are in the Presolana and Colere area, roughly 25–40 minutes by road depending on the lift. Clusone is the nearest larger centre, with a substantial historic core and services for the upper valley. The area is known for alpine valley landscapes, pasture and woodland, and as one of the access valleys toward the Orobie peaks.
