The area is in the pre-Alps at the north end of Lake Iseo, with the lake shore around Lovere and Castro a few kilometres away and the Oglio valley opening nearby. The Bergamasque Alps rise immediately to the north and east, with Monte Pora and the Colere ski area the nearest established lifts, roughly 30–45 minutes by road depending on the base point. Lake Endine is also nearby to the west. Lovere is the nearest town of size; it has a substantial historic centre on the lake and is listed among I Borghi più belli d’Italia. This part of the upper Sebino is known for its lake-and-mountain setting and for the historic industrial settlements of the Valle Camonica and Oglio corridor nearby.
