The Serra d'Ivrea, the long glacial moraine ridge between Biella and Ivrea, is within this area and is one of the defining landforms of the province. The nearest substantial town is Biella, which has the normal services of a provincial centre and the Sacro Monte di Oropa above it is a UNESCO site.
