Trilocale

The cluster is on Sant’Antioco island on the Sulcis coast, with the sea on both sides of the settlement and a low rocky coastline with small sandy beaches and coves around Calasetta. The island is linked to mainland Sardinia by causeway, and within the local area the main landscape is coastal scrub, salt flats and low volcanic ground rather than mountains. The nearest larger town is Carbonia, which provides the main services and rail connection for this part of Sulcis. Sant’Antioco town, on the same island, is the other main centre nearby and has the island’s port and archaeological remains. This part of Sulcis is known for tuna fishing traditions, vineyards and the former mining district inland.
