The cluster sits in the upper Chienti valley in the Sibillini Apennines. The Monti Sibillini are within the local landscape, and much of the area around Pieve Torina falls inside Monti Sibillini National Park. The Chienti river runs through the valley. The nearest ski lifts are on the Frontignano side of Ussita in the Sibillini, roughly 25–35 minutes by road depending on the exact hamlet. Camerino is the nearest town of some size, with services and a university presence. This part of inland Macerata is known for mountain valleys, woodland, pasture and small stone villages tied to the Sibillini area.
