Via Monacelli, Gioia Tauro

The cluster is on the Tyrrhenian coast at the Gulf of Gioia Tauro, with the plain backed at short distance by the Aspromonte massif. The Petrace river reaches the sea here. Aspromonte National Park begins inland on the mountain side of the plain. The nearest larger centre is Reggio Calabria, with full city services, port and rail links. This stretch of Calabria is known for the port and container terminal of Gioia Tauro and for citrus and olive cultivation on the plain.
