Location score 72/100No mountains or named mountain range within about 15 km; the terrain is the flat alluvial plain of the Po Valley. The Mincio river and the three linked basins called Lago Superiore, Lago di Mezzo and Lago Inferiore lie at Mantova and are within the local 15 km radius. The Parco Regionale del Mincio (regional park) covers wetlands and river corridor sections around Mantova and is in the area. The Riserva naturale Bosco della Fontana, a remnant lowland oak woodland and conservation area, lies close to Mantova and the Mincio system. There are no ski lifts within 15 km; Alpine ski areas are over 100 km by road. The nearest town of size is Mantova (provincial capital): it has a historical centre with the Palazzo Ducale complex and the cathedral, a railway station and the main local hospital. Mantova is part of the UNESCO World Heritage listing (Mantua and Sabbioneta).
