Quadrilocale a Gaggio Montano, Gaggio Montano

The cluster sits in the northern Apennines, in the Reno valley and close to the mountain ridges between Emilia and Tuscany. Much of the area around Gaggio Montano is wooded mid-mountain country with chestnut and mixed forest, steep slopes and small ridge villages. Corno alle Scale Regional Park lies within this part of the Bolognese Apennines, and the Corno alle Scale massif is the main named landscape feature nearby. The ski lifts of Corno alle Scale are the nearest substantial ski area, roughly a half-hour drive from Gaggio Montano depending on the exact hamlet. Porretta Terme is the nearest small town of note, with rail links, services and thermal baths, and the wider connection is toward Bologna along the Reno corridor. This part of the Apennines is known for mountain walking, forested valleys and the old route crossings between Emilia and Tuscany.
