Bilocale in Capaci

The cluster lies on the Tyrrhenian side of the Conca d’Oro west of Palermo, between the coastal plain and the first hills that rise toward Monte Gallo and the headlands of the Palermo gulf. The Tyrrhenian coast is nearby, with the long sandy shore of Isola delle Femmine and the small island of the same name within this stretch of coast. Monte Pellegrino and the headlands around Palermo are visible features of the wider gulf, though the setting here is mainly peri-urban coastal plain rather than an isolated natural landscape. Palermo is the nearest city of size, with major rail links, port, airport access nearby at Punta Raisi, and the full range of services and monuments of a regional capital. Isola delle Femmine has Bandiera Blu status in some recent years, and the coastal area is known for beach use, fishing heritage and its position on the approach to Palermo.
