The area around
Location score 70/100The cluster sits inside the Val Cellina, a river valley crossed by the Cellina river. The surrounding terrain is the lower foothills of the Friulian Prealps / Carnic Prealps with wooded slopes and karst limestone outcrops. The valley includes deep gorges and narrow canyon sections of the Cellina that are used locally for outdoor activities such as canyoning and short river excursions. The higher massifs of the Friulian Dolomites lie to the north of the valley (outside the immediate 15 km floor). Maniago (known for its cutlery industry and small manufacturing, with local shops and services) is the nearest town of size within roughly 10–15 km. The provincial capital Pordenone, with larger shops, train connections and administrative services, is the nearest city-scale centre (around 30 km). The area’s economy combines small-scale farming, forestry and light industry in nearby towns; local tourism is oriented to outdoor recreation and rural accommodation.
