The cluster sits in the northern Apennines. Lago di Suviana is within the area, and Lago di Brasimone is nearby in the same upland basin. Much of the surrounding landscape falls in or beside the Suviana e Brasimone Regional Park. The nearest ski slopes are on the Corno alle Scale side of the Bolognese Apennines, roughly an hour’s drive depending on the exact hamlet. Porretta Terme is the nearest town of some size, with rail access, thermal facilities and everyday services. The area is known for chestnut woods, reservoirs, and mid-mountain villages on the Bologna–Pistoia Apennine ridge.
