Serra Sant'Abbondio

Monte Catria and Monte Acuto rise immediately west of Serra Sant’Abbondio in the Umbria-Marche Apennines. The Cesano valley opens eastward from the area. The Monte Catria and Monte Cucco sector is part of the Appennino Umbro-Marchigiano regional park system. The nearest ski lifts are on Monte Catria above Frontone, roughly 20–30 minutes by road depending on the hamlet. Cagli is the nearest town of some size, with a full set of everyday services and a substantial historic centre; Fabriano is also within practical reach for rail links and larger shopping. The abbey of San Vincenzo al Furlo is in the municipal area, and the wider inland Pesaro-Urbino and upper Marche zone is known for wooded Apennine slopes, pasture, truffles and small stone hill villages.
