The cluster is in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, with the ridge around Monte Cusna and the Alpe di Succiso within the local mountain landscape. The Secchia valley is the main river valley of this area. Much of the surrounding territory falls inside the Parco nazionale dell’Appennino Tosco-Emiliano. The nearest ski area is Febbio, on the slopes of Cusna, a short drive from Villa Minozzo. Castelnovo ne’ Monti is the nearest larger town, with the main services for this part of the mountains. The area is known for high Apennine pasture, beech woods and the Bismantova rock massif near Castelnovo ne’ Monti.
