The cluster is in the built-up area of Bolzano, in the Adige valley between the Mendola and Sarentino mountain groups, with vineyards on the lower slopes and porphyry hills around the city. The Talvera and Isarco meet the Adige here. The Sciliar-Catinaccio and Latemar massifs are visible from the basin but lie outside the immediate 15 km landscape.
