The cluster is in the Dolomites, with the Sella Group, Sassongher and the high ridges around the Alta Badia basin within the local landscape. It lies inside the Dolomiti Superski area, with lifts leaving from Corvara and linking directly to Colfosco, La Villa and the Sella Ronda circuit. The Puez-Odle Nature Park is immediately nearby, and the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Natural Park is close on the east side of Alta Badia. Brunico is the nearest larger town with full services, rail access and a hospital. The area is known for Ladin culture and for winter skiing and summer hiking in the Dolomites. The Dolomites are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
