This is in the Brescian plain west of Brescia, in largely flat farm country between the lower Oglio area and the city’s outer plain. Monte Orfano rises to the west near Rovato and the first Franciacorta hills begin beyond it, but the immediate 15 km surroundings are mostly cultivated lowland with small towns, irrigation channels and local roads. Brescia is the nearest large city and provides the main services, rail connections and historic centre. The wider area is known for intensive agriculture, and just beyond the plain around Rovato and Erbusco for Franciacorta wine.
