This point is in the built-up area of Rome on its western side, in the Tiber plain with continuous suburban development, major roads and commercial zones. The Tiber is the main river of the area. Central Rome, within daily use rather than landscape distance, has the full range of metropolitan services and the city's historic fabric, including UNESCO-listed monuments, but the immediate 15 km surroundings are urban and peri-urban rather than a distinct rural or natural setting. The Tyrrhenian coast near Fiumicino and Ostia lies farther west, but it does not define the immediate surroundings here.
