The cluster is in the Goceano uplands at the edge of the Marghine-Goceano mountain country, with wooded hills and the higher mass of Monte Rasu within the local landscape. The Tirso basin lies nearby, and the area around Foresta Burgos and the Burgos plateau is one of forests, pasture and volcanic uplands. The Parco naturale regionale di Tepilora is farther east and does not fall in the immediate landscape here. The nearest town of some size is Ozieri, which provides the main services for this part of the interior. This part of central-northern Sardinia is known for cork oak woodland, pastoral landscapes and the historic Castello di Burgos in the Goceano area.
