The Ligurian Sea is at the town, with a long built seafront on the Riviera di Ponente. The area sits on the coastal strip below the first Ligurian Alps and the lower slopes rise immediately inland above the plain. The Centa valley and the Albenga plain are just east of here and form one of the broader flat coastal areas in western Liguria. The nearest larger town is Albenga, which has a substantial historic centre and services. To the west, around Loano and Finale, the coast continues as a dense chain of seaside settlements. This part of the coast is known for beach tourism, horticulture on the coastal plain, and olive cultivation on the inland slopes.
