Strada Vascigliano - Sant'Urbano, Narni

The area lies in the southern Umbrian hills above the Nera valley. The Nera river runs below Narni in a narrow gorge, and the lower Velino is nearby around Terni. Narni itself is a substantial historic hill town with a fortress, medieval streets and the cathedral; Terni is the nearest larger town and has the full range of services, rail connections and industry. The Marmore Falls are nearby in the Terni area, created by the Velino dropping into the Nera. This part of Umbria is known for wooded ridges, olive groves and historic hill settlements on limestone and tuff spurs.
