Appartamento - Orvieto (TR)

The cluster is in the volcanic tuff landscape around Orvieto, with the town itself standing on a long cliff of tuff above the Paglia valley. The Paglia river runs just below the town and the wider area is a mix of ravines, cultivated hills and table-like volcanic plateaux. Orvieto is the nearest town of size and it has one of the main cathedral complexes in central Italy, a substantial historic centre and rail access on the Rome–Florence line below the cliff. The area is known for the Orvieto hill town and for vineyards producing Orvieto wine.
