The upper Tammaro valley and the first Molisan Apennine hills surround the area. Sepino is known for Altilia-Saepinum, the Roman archaeological site just outside the modern village, with preserved walls, gates and street grid. Within the same area are small inland hill villages and mixed farmland typical of this part of Molise. The nearest larger town is Campobasso, which provides the main services, shops and rail connections for the province.
