This is flat rice-country on the western Novara plain, between the Sesia and Ticino river systems, with a landscape of paddies, irrigation canals, farmsteads and long straight roads. The Sesia runs a few kilometres west of Vinzaglio, and the Cavour Canal crosses this part of the plain. The nearest larger towns are Novara and Vercelli, both with full services and rail links. The area is known for rice cultivation in the Bassa Novarese and Vercellese.
