The cluster is in the pre-Alpine hills north of Varese, close to the border with Switzerland. Lake Lugano is within about 10 km, with the Italian shore at Lavena Ponte Tresa. The area lies inside the Valli del Verbano landscape, with wooded slopes and valleys under Monte Piambello and the ridges above Valmarchirolo. The Parco Regionale Campo dei Fiori is within daily driving distance from here but not inside the immediate 15 km landscape. The nearest larger town is Luino on Lake Maggiore, while Varese is the main provincial city with services, rail links and hospitals. The area is known for chestnut woods, small border valleys and access routes toward the Ceresio and Verbano lake districts.
