Monolocale in San Michele al Tagliamento

The cluster is on the northern Adriatic coast on the barrier peninsula of Lignano Sabbiadoro. The town fronts the Adriatic Sea and has long sandy beaches along the seaward side. On the landward side the peninsula bounds the Marano Lagoon (Laguna di Marano); the braided mouth of the Tagliamento river lies a few kilometres to the north. The immediate landscape is a flat coastal plain of beaches, dunes and lagoon marshes. The built environment is a summer seaside resort (Lignano Sabbiadoro together with the adjacent Lignano Pineta and Lignano Riviera) with marinas, campsites and seasonal tourist services. Nearby towns include Marano Lagunare and the transport/service town of Latisana; larger regional centres (Udine, Trieste) lie further inland and along the coast.
