The cluster is in the upper Val Camonica with the Adamello Alps around it. The Oglio river runs down the valley. The area is close to the Adamello Regional Park, and the Aprica ski area is the nearest lift system at roughly 15–20 minutes by road from the valley settlements toward the pass. Edolo is the nearest town of some size, with rail terminus, schools, shops and services. Within this stretch of Val Camonica the area is known for alpine valley scenery, high pastures and mountain hamlets; the wider valley is also known for prehistoric rock engravings, with the UNESCO sites concentrated farther down Val Camonica and not in the immediate 15 km surroundings.
