The cluster sits on the Tyrrhenian coastal plain close to the sea. The Angitola river and the Lago dell'Angitola (a reservoir/wetland) lie within a few kilometres and are protected as a regional nature reserve (Riserva Naturale Regionale Lago dell'Angitola). The coastal state road and the Tyrrhenian railway run along the shore; the nearest larger coastal towns are Pizzo Calabro and the provincial capital Vibo Valentia, which provide shops and public services. The plain is used for agriculture (olive groves and citrus) and the land rises to the lower foothills of the Serre Calabresi within the 15 km radius. There is no UNESCO designation or national park inside 15 km; the lake reserve is the main named natural feature and a local birdwatching site. The area is locally known for its beaches and summer seaside tourism and for agricultural production.
