The cluster is in the upper Val Camonica, with steep Alpine valley sides and the Adamello-Presanella group close by to the north and east. The Oglio runs down the valley. Adamello Regional Park lies nearby on the east side of the valley. The nearest ski area is Aprica, reached by road in about 25 minutes, with larger lifts around Ponte di Legno-Tonale farther up the valley. Edolo is the nearest town of size, with secondary schools, rail terminus and everyday services. Val Camonica is known for its rock engravings, with the UNESCO prehistoric rock art sites concentrated elsewhere in the valley.
