Castegnato sits in the western Brescia plain at the foot of the Franciacorta hills. Lake Iseo lies within about 15 km to the west, with the southern basin and shore settlements around Iseo and Sarnico the nearest lake landscape. The Franciacorta wine area begins immediately west and northwest, with vineyard-covered morainic hills, small villages and country roads between Castegnato, Gussago, Rodengo Saiano and Passirano.
