The area is the south-eastern Brescian plain, with open agricultural land and scattered settlements between Brescia and the edge of the morainic hills that lead toward Lake Garda. The Chiese river runs nearby to the east, and the Garda morainic amphitheatre begins within this radius around Castiglione delle Stiviere and the hills toward Lonato. Brescia is the nearest city of size, with full services, rail links, major retail and a large historic centre. Lake Garda is beyond the 15 km radius, so it is a logistics fact rather than part of the immediate landscape. The area is known for mixed farming and for Montichiari's trade-fair and airport zone.
