Concesio - Villa Carcina

The cluster is in the lower Val Trompia, with the first Brescian Prealps rising immediately north of the built-up area. The Mella runs down the valley here. Monte Maddalena stands east of the Brescia basin, and the valley closes toward the higher ridges of Val Trompia further north. Brescia is adjacent and provides the full services of a provincial capital, major rail connections, and large historic monuments including the UNESCO serial site of Brescia romana and the monastic complex of San Salvatore-Santa Giulia. This part of Val Trompia is known historically for ironworking and firearms manufacture, with industry spread along the valley floor.
