Quadrilocale in Ceto

The cluster is in Val Camonica in the Bergamo Alps, with steep wooded slopes and high ground rising close to the village. The Oglio runs along the floor of Val Camonica below, and the area is tied to the middle valley landscape rather than to open plain country. The Parco dell'Adamello begins nearby on the west side of this part of the valley, and the mountains around Cimbergo and Paspardo are part of the zone known for prehistoric rock engravings; the Naquane/Ceto-Cimbergo-Paspardo rock art area within a few kilometres is part of the UNESCO Rock Drawings in Valcamonica site. The nearest substantial town is Breno in the valley, with everyday services and rail connections along the Brescia-Edolo line. The wider area is known for alpine valleys, chestnut and beech woods on the lower slopes, and the concentration of prehistoric carved rock sites.
