The cluster is on the lower slopes at the entrance to Val Trompia, with the Brescian Prealps immediately north. The Garza stream runs through the built-up area toward Brescia. Monte Maddalena rises just east of the urban area, and the slopes above Bovezzo are part of the hill and prealpine belt that frames the city of Brescia. Brescia is directly adjoining to the south and has the full range of city services, rail links and major historic monuments including the UNESCO site of Brescia romana and the monastic complex of San Salvatore-Santa Giulia. Lake Garda and Lake Iseo are not far by road but lie outside the immediate 15 km landscape. The area is known historically for the Val Trompia metalworking and firearms industry.
