Bovegno is the nearest small service centre in the valley, while Brescia is the nearest city of size for full services and rail connections. The area is known for Val Trompia’s mountain landscape and for the long-standing ironworking and arms-manufacturing tradition lower down the valley around Gardone Val Trompia.
