Monte Isola is immediately offshore and the lower slopes of the Brescian Prealps rise directly behind the settlement. The area is part of the Sebino lake landscape; the Torbiere del Sebino nature reserve is on the southern side of the lake within local reach. The nearest ski lifts are in the Maniva and Montecampione areas, reached by a mountain drive of roughly an hour or more, so they are not part of the immediate setting. Iseo is the nearest town of size on the lake and has daily services, a railway terminus and a built historic centre.
