This is in the Bassa Bresciana plain, with flat agricultural land shaped by irrigation canals and fields between Brescia and the lower Oglio country. The river Oglio runs to the west of the area and is the main named natural feature within local reach. Brescia is the nearest large city, with a full range of services, major rail connections, and a substantial historic centre with Roman remains and medieval and Renaissance monuments. The wider area is known for intensive farming and for the Franciacorta wine zone farther north toward Lake Iseo, but that is outside the immediate landscape here.
