Mansarda in Collio

The cluster is in the upper Trompia valley in the Brescian Prealps, with wooded mountain slopes and narrow side valleys immediately around it. The Mella river runs down Val Trompia. This is mountain territory rather than open hill country, and the Maniva pass area and Monte Maniva are nearby; the nearest ski lifts are at Maniva, roughly a 20–30 minute drive depending on the exact hamlet. Bovegno is the nearest small service centre in the valley, while Brescia is the nearest city of size for full services and rail connections. The area is known for Val Trompia’s mountain landscape and for the long-standing ironworking and arms-manufacturing tradition lower down the valley around Gardone Val Trompia.
