This is the southern Brescian plain near the edge of the Po Valley, with mostly flat agricultural land and scattered settlements. The Chiese river runs a few kilometres west of Carpenedolo, and the Mincio valley and the southern side of Lake Garda are farther off but outside the immediate 15 km landscape. Castiglione delle Stiviere is the nearest larger centre, with a substantial built-up area and services; Montichiari is also close and has shops, schools and the airport. The area is known mainly for farming and for being on the plain between Brescia, Mantua and the Garda hinterland.
