The area is linked to the Parco delle Colline di Brescia on the southern side of the valley system, while the higher valley leads toward the mountain group around Monte Guglielmo. The nearest substantial city is Brescia, with full services, rail connections and a large historic centre. Val Trompia is known for metalworking and firearms manufacture, and for a settled valley landscape of villages, woods and steep slopes.
