Lake Iseo is at the village, with the eastern shore road and ferries across the lake. Monte Isola is immediately offshore and the lower slopes of the Brescian Prealps rise directly behind the settlement. The area is part of the Sebino lake landscape; the Torbiere del Sebino nature reserve is on the southern side of the lake within local reach. The nearest ski lifts are in the Maniva and Montecampione areas, reached by a mountain drive of roughly an hour or more, so they are not part of the immediate setting. Iseo is the nearest town of size on the lake and has daily services, a railway terminus and a built historic centre. The Franciacorta wine area begins south of the lake and the zone is known for lake tourism, olive growing on sheltered slopes and Monte Isola.
