The Cimini Mountains lie east of Vetralla, with mixed woodland and volcanic hills inside the area. Lake Vico, a volcanic lake within the Monti Cimini, is the main named natural feature nearby and sits within roughly 15 km. The area also includes parts of the Lake Vico Regional Nature Reserve. Viterbo is the nearest larger town, with a substantial medieval centre and services. This part of northern Lazio is known for hazelnut groves, chestnut woods and former Etruscan territory.
