Monte d’Oro rises above Montelepre and Partinico, and the higher limestone relief of the Monti di Palermo is nearby. The coast is not far, with the Gulf of Castellammare around Terrasini and Trappeto as the nearest sea frontage, but the cluster is inland rather than on the shore. Palermo is the nearest large city, with the full services of a regional capital and the airport at Punta Raisi on this side of the province. The area is known for vineyards, olives and citrus in the wider western Palermitan countryside.
