The cluster lies on the volcanic highland at the southern edge of the Monti Cimini (Cimini hills). Lake Vico and the wooded slopes of the Monti Cimini are within roughly 15 km to the north‑west; Lake Vico is a volcanic lake with a designated natural reserve (Riserva Naturale Lago di Vico). The Tyrrhenian Sea (Lazio coast) is about 31 km to the west. There are no local ski lifts; the nearest Apennine ski areas are well over 100 km to the east. The nearest city of size is Viterbo, the provincial capital, which offers a hospital, provincial administrative services and rail links to Rome; nearer small towns such as Sutri and Ronciglione provide basic shops and services. The surrounding landscape is volcanic and tuff‑based, with mixed arable land, olive groves and small woodlands. The province contains numerous Etruscan and medieval sites and thermal springs in Viterbo are regionally significant.
