This is inland Salento on the plain between the lower Murge and the Ionian coast, with olive groves, vineyards and arable fields around a compact small town. The nearest sea is the Ionian coast around Torre Lapillo and Porto Cesareo, but it is outside the 15 km radius. Manduria is the nearest larger town in daily use, with shops, services and a substantial historic centre. The area is known for agriculture, especially olive oil, wine and the Primitivo di Manduria zone nearby.
