Trilocale in Napoli

The cluster sits inside the built-up area of Naples (Napoli), a coastal city on the Gulf of Naples (Tyrrhenian Sea) with shoreline at the city edge. Mount Vesuvius (an active volcano) rises roughly 10–15 km to the east and is contained within the Parco Nazionale del Vesuvio. The volcanic Phlegraean Fields (Campi Flegrei), including the towns of Pozzuoli and Baia and their archaeological sites, lie to the west within about 15 km. Naples has an international airport (Napoli–Capodichino) approximately 5–8 km from the city centre. The Historic Centre of Naples is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Naples is a major port with regular ferry and hydrofoil links to the islands of the Bay of Naples (Capri, Ischia, Procida) and to the Sorrentine/Amalfi towns. Large cultural institutions are inside the urban area, including the Museo Archeologico Nazionale, the Teatro di San Carlo and the University of Naples. The area is known for pizza (originating in Naples), its port and maritime connections, and its immediate proximity to volcanic landscapes.
