The cluster sits on the Murge threshold between the Salento plain and the first inland limestone uplands. The Gravina di Villa Castelli, part of the local system of ravines cut into the karst plateau, is within the area. Martina Franca is the nearest substantial town, with a large historic centre and services. Alberobello and the Valle d'Itria with its trulli landscape lie beyond the immediate 15 km radius, so they matter more for outings than for the lived landscape. This part of inland Brindisi province is known for olive groves, vineyards and karst terrain.
