The nearest ski area is Monte Piselli above Ascoli Piceno, roughly an hour by road, with larger lifts farther away on the Sibillini side. Ascoli Piceno is the nearest town of size, with a substantial historic centre and services. The area is known for wooded mountain slopes, deep valleys, stone hamlets and the thermal springs from which Acquasanta Terme takes its name.
