Monte Berico and the Santuario della Madonna di Monte Berico lie immediately to the south of the historic centre. The Colli Berici (Berici Hills) are within the 15 km radius to the south and include vineyard areas with Colli Berici DOC designation. Vicenza and its province are a national centre for jewellery and goldsmithing and have a significant light-industrial and trade-fair economy. The city has a railway station on the Milan–Venice line and direct access to the A4 autostrada; the nearest major commercial airports for residents are in Verona and Venice.
