Contrada Lauri

The cluster is in the upper Sele valley at the foot of the Campanian Lucanian Apennines, with wooded hills and low mountains around the town. The Sele river runs through this area. The Monti Picentini are nearby to the west, and the Parco Regionale dei Monti Picentini begins within this inland belt. The nearest town of size is Eboli on the lower Sele plain; farther south-east, Oliveto Citra and Campagna are the main small inland centres with historic cores. Contursi is known for its thermal springs and spa facilities.
